The X-Dry dehumidifier, we feel, is the best desiccant dehumidifier that we have tried and tested. It is a slim-line, lightweight dehumidifier that can operate at temperatures as low as 1°C.
This dehumidifier is ideal for applications such as garages, holiday homes, caravans and unattended premises.
The X-Dry dehumidifier works on the adsorption principle. By absorbing the moisture from the air on the desiccant material inside the dehumidifier, moisture can be extracted at a constant rate, in temperatures as low as 1°C. This makes the desiccant dehumidifiers far more efficient at lower temperatures than conventional refrigerated dehumidifiers that lose efficiency as the temperature decreases.
A benefit of the X-Dry dehumidifier is that it has an auto restart after a power failure. This means that the dehumidifier will continue to operate at the selected settings prior to the power failure. This includes the drying mode, the swing function and the time remaining when in timer mode. This makes it ideal for premises that may be left unattended or where power failures are likely to occur.
Water is collected in a tank at the base of the dehumidifier. When the tank is full the ‘FULL’ LED light will illuminate and the dehumidifier will stop operating until the tank has been emptied and refitted. Alternatively the X-Dry can be set up for continuous draining (hose supplied) this will stop the need for the tank to be emptied.
The air that comes out of the X-Dry dehumidifier will be about 10 to 12°C warmer than the air that goes into it. This makes the dehumidifier very useful for drying washing or keeping the chill off in cold premises.
The soft touch control panel at the top of the X-Dry dehumidifier will allow you to set the dehumidifier to laundry mode to help with the drying of washing and 3 different dry modes. This will also change the speed of the fan within the dehumidifier.
A timer function on the dehumidifier will the unit to be switched off in 2, 4 or 8 hours time. A filter at the back of the dehumidifier will prevent dust from entering the unit.
