This is a new type of moisture absorber for use in packaging and storage.
It will absorb up to 150% its own weight in moisture as it turns from a powder into a gel. This is in contrast to silica-based products that can only absorb 15-25% of their weight.
Unlike other silica-based dehumidifiers, Superdry is 100% safe to use as it is a food-grade material. Silica-based moisture absorbers are potentially carcinogenic if the silica ever turns to dust.
The Superdry desiccant is contained in five 200g bags connected to each other. It has a plastic hook at one end that makes it ideal for hanging in sheds, vans, lorries, caravans, the back of doors in boats, cupboards, cabinets, lockers or in a wardrobe.
Superdry's outer casing is made of a one-way, spun-bound Tyvek material that will only allow moisture to travel in. Added to the fact that Superdry turns to gel during the absorption process and it guarantees no leaks of the collected moisture.
1kg Superdry desiccant is effective in areas up to 10m³ and will remain effective for up to six weeks. After this time, or when it weighs around 2.5kg, simply throw it away and replace it with another.
