This stylish slim-line air purifier has an advanced filtration system to remove 99.97% of all airborne pollution, allergens, smoke, harmful gases, and odours – creating a healthier atmosphere.
It is ideal for a room up to 16.5m².
The air cleaning process happens in four stages. First the nano pre-filter traps dust and large particles, whilst its silver coating kills most air borne bacteria, preventing the growth of micro-organisms on the HEPA filter. The air then passes through a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter where 99.97% of particles >0.3 micrometres is removed. For comparison, a hair has a width of 70-100 micrometres.
Originally the HEPA filter was developed for use in clinical applications and is now a breath of fresh air for allergy sufferers.
Once the small particles have been removed, an active carbon filter removes harmful gases and odours.
The last stage in the filtration process is the ultra-violet / photo catalyst TiO2 that deodorises and kills any remaining air borne bacteria, reducing the impact of germs and viruses.
This unit has exceptionally quiet operation compared to other HEPA air purifiers on the market. This modern metallic looking air purifier is stylish in design and features an anti-stress light at the top - ideal as a night light for a child's bedroom.
The LED control panel includes an on/off button, three fan speed settings (low, medium and high), a timer and ion / photocatalyst button. A small green light will indicate which mode has been selected whilst a stylish green light at the top indicates that the unit is in operation.
The air purifier can be turned off using the timer, so you can set it to deactivate in 1, 4 or 8 hours. As indoor air can quickly become contaminated by activity in the room it is advisable that the air purifier should operate 24 hours a day as it uses just 45W it is cheaper to run then a standard light bulb.
When selecting the ion/TiO2 function the large light will change to blue indicating that it is in operation. An ionising system replaces negative ions that have been destroyed by pollution and electronic equipment. Air contamination and electronic appliances such as computers and televisions lead to the breakdown of negative ions in the air. When there are not enough negative ions, the air feels stale and stuffy. By generating negative ions the air feels noticeably clean and fresh.
Negative ions also join together with dust particles, forming what are known as clusters. The negative charge these clusters have make them precipitate out of the atmosphere and stick to surfaces leaving the atmosphere clear of pollutants. This is so effective that ionisers are now being used in hospitals to suppress the transfer of air borne viruses. The ioniser function can be turned off or on independently when the unit is operating.
Regular filter replacement is a prerequisite for hygienic, trouble-free operation.
