The Ruby Dry Dehumidifier is slim-line, very compact, lightweight, extremely quiet and efficient at temperatures as low as 1°C.
It's an ideal solution for safe winter storage of cars, boats and caravans, in the home and for use in any workshop environment.
The Ruby Dry dehumidifier works on the principal of absorption. By absorbing the moisture from the air onto a silica gel rotor, moisture can be extracted at a constant rate, in temperatures as low as 1°C.
The advantage of using this method is that a conventional refrigerant machine can be compromised at this temperature as their efficiency decreases as the temperature drops and the refrigerant coils ice over. The Ruby however has small heating coils that dry out the silica gel rotor to provide continuous operation without any build up of ice.
Another unique feature of the Ruby is that it doesn’t have a heavy compressor so it is less than half the weight of a refrigerant machine, making it ideal for moving around the house. In lieu of the compressor is a silica gel unit, which is free from freon or noxious gases - making it environmentally friendly.
Without a compressor the Ruby is also much quieter as the only noise made is the air movement from the low speed fan. This makes it ideal for use in bedrooms or living rooms.
Water is collected in a tank at the base of the machine. When the tank is full the "full tank" light will come on and the machine will switch off automatically until the tank is emptied and replaced. A continuous drain hose can be fitted for constant draining. In the event the unit is tipped over it will turn itself off automatically.
With a constant stream of warm dried air being put back into the environment the Ruby acts as an added heat source for those winter months. This temperature of the air escaping the unit is approximately 10-12°C warmer than the air going into it - saving on heating costs.
The unit can be set for continuous dehumidification or the humidistat can be set to control the atmosphere to either 40%, 50% or 60% relative humidity.
If the unit is set for continuous operation the fan can be set to low, medium or high. On low the dehumidifier is barely audible - much quieter than any refrigerant unit available.
Not only is the unit lightweight it also has a carry handle for easy manoeuvrability around the house.
Contains an air filter to prevent dust from entering the unit.
Ensuring adequate air movement improves effectiveness of the dehumidifier, for this we recommend the use of portable fans particularly for confined spaces e.g. cellars and small rooms.
