This commercial hot water cabinet water softener is ideal for use in hotels, restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes and food processing plants.
It will prevent formation of scale on heating elements in glass, dish or cutlery washers, beverage vending machines, combination ovens, steamers and laundry equipment.
This will improve the performance of heating elements, lower servicing costs, reduce machinery downtime, increase equipment life and improve cleaning quality.
The commercial water softener works by passing water through a cylinder containing ion exchange resin beads. The hardness salts - calcium and magnesium ions - are attracted to the resin and removed from the water. The resin is automatically cleaned (regenerated) by rinsing a small amount of brine through the cylinder. The accumulated hardness does not enter the water supply, but is automatically flushed away to a nearby drain. Refreshed by regeneration, the resin is again ready to remove hardness.
The frequency of regeneration depends on the hardness and volume of the water being used. It takes place automatically and is initiated by a timer. The freqency is set by pushing in the pins on the skipper wheel. Once set the softener will automatically regenerate at the pre-determined interval - normally at 2am.
There is also a manual override to enable a regeneration to be initiated at any other time.
This commercial water softener is suitable for softening water that has been heated up to 60°C. It will treat up to 4,189 litres of water between regenerations at 200ppm (a measurement of water hardness).
