This quality 10,000Btu portable air conditioner performs as well as it looks.
Designed and developed in Italy, it has an advanced three-way cooling system to evenly distribute the air. Unlike other air conditioners, which force all the cold air out of a small opening, the Omas directs the cool air into the room through three vents in the top and sides of the unit. This ensures even distribution of cool air without draughts.
The Omas also incorporates a twin-hose system making it much more efficient than a regular single hose air conditioner. One hose draws external air into the condenser while the other extracts and vents the hot air outside.
Both hoses are similar in style to a tumble drier extract hose and are placed through a slightly opened window or door with the adjustable window adaptor included.
This is unlike a regular single hose portable air conditioner that draws air into the condenser from the room itself. Some of this room air is then vented out of the extract hose. In doing this, warm air is drawn into the room to replace the vented air. This increases the amount of air exchanges within the room making it more difficult to lower the temperature.
By having a twin pipe system that draws air into the condenser from outside the room, the cold room air is left inside the room. This decreases the amount of air exchanges the room experiences and makes cooling much more rapid. In fact it's up to twice as quick as a regular single pipe system.
The remote control makes operating the unit very easy as does the soft tough control panel on the top.
The Omas portable air conditioner has three fan speeds for maximum cooling or minimum noise and also incorporates a 12 hour programmable timer. This is a very handy feature if you want to use the unit in a bedroom but don't want to leave it on all night, as you can set it to turn itself off after a short period of time.
Condensation that builds-up within the water tank in the unit will need to be emptied occasionally. When the tank is full the Omas will shut down and a light on the control panel will indicate that this needs to be done. This feature of the unit will also help to dehumidify a room.
